So I posted a while back about how to cozy up the reception space, and my caterer had suggested renting trees. It just didn't do it for me (plus it was darn pricey). I racked my little brain, and I found some inspiration:
Manzanita branches! And not just some wimpy small ones, no sir. With the help of my dear internet friend Amanda, I have 6 huge "branches" that are over 60 inches tall!
Pics to come...blogger is having some trouble loading photos at the moment. These are like sculpture, I'm so impressed. I'm still debating exactly what to do with them, but I am for sure hanging some LED votives off of them. I might include some flowers.. but B is not sold on that. He thinks they will look great with just the candles, and I worry that they will look like something from the Haunted Mansion without some added "softness". Anyway, potato potahto. I'm just happy to have them.

So glad you love!!!!! :) Just make sure the votive candle are very deep to keep them from catching fire, and that the candle are just tea lights. That is what we are doing. My dad is all freaked out we are going to burn our reception hall down, but my step-mom on it to get him to realize that wont happen. I can't wait to see pictures!!!!! :) Let me know if you need some pictures of inspiration. I have a few pictures. Amanda
hi Amanda! My mom was really freaked out too.. so we're using the "fake" candles... I found some really cheap from flowersandsupplies.com. They actually "flicker" and look very nice.
Dude, these are awesome!! I seriously have no idea what I would do with them, but I want some! Where'd you find them?
(PS, this is Mrs. Cream Puff)
Mrs. Cream Puff! Thanks for visiting!
I got the branches from nor cal knottie Amandad. I'm sure she would find some for you, too!
I plan to sell mine too (only so much you can do with 6 6ft tall branches, you know?)
